  1. When will Phuket reopen to tourists?

Speaking at a press conference today, Mr. Prayut – Thailand’s Prime Minister, said “Phuket is getting ready to kick off from 1 July 2021 to 30 October 2021. On top of that, Thailand is expected to fully reopen to vaccinated travelers by October”

  1. Are there flights available to Phuket?

Airline services are gradually increasing to Phuket from many countries as travel restrictions ease. At present, here are the 5 latest International Airports that are ready to kick off the reopening.

  1. Do we need to have received a specific vaccine?

It is essential to note that the vaccines have to be approved by both: Thailand’s Food & Drug Administration and the WHO (World Health Organization).

  1. Do we need a vaccine passport?

It is expected that travelers will need to show a vaccine certificate, a vaccine passport or an International Air Transport Association (IATA) travel pass if they would like to visit Phuket.

As the rules and restrictions are frequently updated, please check the information below to find the most up-to-date travel concerns.

Tourists who are willing to move to other Provinces in Thailand when arriving under the Sandbox Program will have to stay a minimum of 14 Nights in an SHA PLUS Hotel in Phuket (Safety and Health Administration Certificate) before moving to any other Province.

Tourists who are coming just to Phuket without visiting other Provinces in Thailand can stay for any duration they want in an SHA Plus Hotel under the Phuket Sandbox Rules (no minimum stay required).

Non-Vaccinated Children Aged Between 6 Years Old and 18 Years old traveling with their Parents have to undergo the Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival at Phuket International Airport at their own expense.

Non-Vaccinated Children Aged Between 0 to 6 Years Old, will not need a Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival.

Tourists Traveling to Phuket under the Sandbox Model have to do 2 PCR Tests. The First one will be administered on Day 6 and the second one on Day 12 in case of staying 14 nights.

In regards to traveling to Phi Phi Island, Phang-nga, and Koh Yao, it has been postponed until further notice. This means that Tourists cannot leave the Island Even for a one-day trip during these 14 Nights.

Tourists are allowed to change their hotel after the first 7 Nights to another hotel. All of the hotels booked have to be SHA Plus Hotels.

Bars and clubs will remain closed until the end of Q3.

For people who own a house or condo in Phuket, they will still have to stay 14 nights in an SHA Plus Hotel first before moving back to their houses
